Vice President of Origination and Acquisitions
Southern Power
K-Rob serves as Southern Power’s Vice President of Origination and Acquisitions. In this role, he leads the business development team, which includes origination of new power supply agreements as well as the acquisition of assets.
K-Rob previously served as power delivery general manager for Alabama Power. In this role, he was responsible for providing safe and reliable power delivery to customers in south central Alabama, including Montgomery, Auburn, Clanton, Dadeville, Greenville, Prattville, Selma and Wetumpka. He led a team of over 275 highly skilled electrical workers, engineers, specialists and technicians in the design, construction, maintenance and support of the 24/7 operation of the transmission and distribution systems in Alabama Power’s Southern Division.
Since joining Southern Company in 2002, K-Rob has held various engineering and leadership positions including transmission construction general manager and transmission area manager at Alabama Power, assistant to the chief transmission officer of Southern Company and transmission maintenance supervisor at Alabama Power. He also served as the transmission lines and planning supervisor at Mississippi Power.
K-Rob is a registered professional engineer in the state of Alabama with a degree in civil engineering from Auburn University. He currently serves on the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council and the Alabama Power Academic Excellence Program in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. He was appointed by the Governor of Alabama to serve on Alabama’s inaugural STEM Council.

What is your current role at Southern Power? I am the Vice President of Origination and Acquisitions.
What are your hobbies? I enjoy golf, all things Auburn University and spending time with family.
What’s the best vacation you’ve taken? Ladera Resort in St. Lucia is amazing.
Favorite food. Hard to beat a McDonald’s #7: Fish Filet, Large Fry, Dr. Pepper and throw in an apple pie.
If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring? As a long tenured Survivor fan, I am bringing a flint, machete and a cast iron pot. I’m assuming the island comes with rice, fresh water and strangers.
Tell us something we might not know about you. I lived in Kingston and Port Ewen, New York, from the age of 5-12.
What is the last book you read? The Servant by James Hunter.
Tell us something on your bucket list. Travel to every state in the U.S. via RV.
What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery? A plane ticket to Coburg, Oregon, to pick up my new Prevost X3 RV from Marathon coach.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Negative attitudes and a lack of effort rank high on my pet peeve list.
Do you have a hidden talent? Ping pong.
